Meet the Spotlight Team

Gina
Owner / Creative Director / Jazz / Performing Groups
Gina has been dancing since the age of 3 and has been teaching since she was 16 years old. Gina has extensive experience in Ballet, Lyrical, Modern and Jazz.
Gina also performed professionally for 10 years in Hollywood, California, where she danced with major celebrities, in television commercials, music videos, and has worked with the top choreographers. She has performed all over the U.S. and in Japan.
Gina has a passion for teaching, with a goal to provide career paths for her students who want to be professional dancers. Many of Spotlight students have gone on to perform on TV, in movies, on Broadway, and prominent dance companies around the world.

Lena
Ballet
Lena began Ballroom dancing in the Ukraine when she was very young and won 3rd place in the ukrainian Championships. Lena received her ballet training with the Cleveland Ballet, and has performed in the Nutcracker, Thoreadore, Coppelia and original works by Tom Everet.
Lena is also highly trained in Pointe, Modern, Flamenco, and Ballroom.
She now specializes in teaching children of all ages.

Colleen
Jazz / Hip Hop / Performing Groups
Colleen has been dancing at Spotlight since she was three years old. She has won numerous competition awards and has trained with some of the finest instructors in New York and Los Angeles, including Joe Tremaine, Jackie Sleight, Mandy Moore, Ray Leeper, Jeff Amsden, and Christian Vincent.
Colleen has a contemporary and trendy teaching style that is popular with today’s youth.
Colleen brings years of experience to Spotlight in Jazz, Hip Hop and Creative/Combo Dance instruction.

Erin
Combo / Jazz / Tap / Ballet / Performing Groups
Erin has a passion for working with our younger students. Her choreography is age appropriate and very creative.
As as dancer, Erin has performed since the age of 4. She has competed in regional and national dance competitions with Spotlight.
We are very fortunate to have Erin on staff at Spotlight.

Sammy
Hip Hop / Jazz / Performing Groups
Sammy is an exceptional dancer in her own right, and has performed in Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, and New York. Sammy teaches all dance forms, with Hip Hop being one of her specialties.
Sammy is home grown. She started at Spotlight as a student at a very young age, and has become a beautiful dancer, teacher and role model for our younger students.

Teressa
Ballet / Pointe
Teressa began dancing at the age of 5. She holds certificates in advanced grades of the Cecchetti Ballet Method. She attended Summer Ballet Intensives sponsored by the Cechetti Council of America as well as with the Dance Institute of Akron and Point Park College.
She enriched her ballet training with former Cleveland Ballet dancer Kay Eichman where she refined her technique and artistry.
She holds a BA in Communications from John Carroll University. Teressa own a video production company, T Star Video Productions.

Chandler
Tap / Lyrical / Acro / Modern
Chandler has been dancing and performing all her life. After teaching at Spotlight for two years, she followed her dream to live in Los Angeles and study her craft from premier dance instructors and choreographers. Chandler recently returned to Spotlight with a wealth of knowledge and experience that she is excited to share with her students.
Chandler specializes in all areas of dance, including Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Acro, Lyrical and Contemporary.
Chandler is a great role model to her students and her main goal is to inspire students to follow their dreams and believe that anything is possible.

Kaela
Hip Hop / Jazz / Performing Groups
Joining our fabulous teaching staff is Kaela Johnson. Kaela is a former student and LA dancer/choreographer. We are so excited that Kaela returned to her roots and is teaching at Spotlight.
Kaela has worked with many celebrities, including Ricky Martin and 21 Pilots. She has been featured in numerous TV commercials.
Kaela can teach all subjects and is currently working with our students in Hip Hop and Jazz.

Nicole
Musical Theater/ Acro/ Contemporary
Nicole Crowl graduated from Kent State University with a BFA in Dance Performance. She has studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand twice as Vice President of the student organization, East Meets West, and as a participant in a two-week dance intensive with the School of Toronto Dance Theatre in Ontario, Canada. Nicole has also trained with DIAVOLO| Architecture in Motion® in Los Angeles, California, and at the Ruth Page School of Dance in Chicago, Illinois.
Nicole’s passion for teaching began at the age of 15. She is Acrobatic Arts Certified and has studied and taught various styles including jazz, modern, ballet, contemporary, and tap.
